Introducing our new line of Birmingham faux panels.

Birmingham Panels

We’ve just recently added a new line of faux panels called Birmingham panels. These great new panels come in two realistic styles, Ledgestone and Random Rock.

Birmingham Panels also come in a choice of three eye popping such, River Ridge, Desert Blend, and Stormy Sky.

With a smaller overall size than most of our panels, Birmingham offers some advantages.

  • very little waste
  • easy to maneuver and manipulate
  • easy to cut
  • Extra durable hard coat
  • small enough to be cut on many power miter saws, making angle cuts very easy

    A Seamless Look

Want to get a seamless look on your Faux Panels. Check out this small guide to help you. You will need a Touch up kit that is made for your specific panel.

1.Caulk the sides of the panel.
    2. Some caulk should squeeze out of the seam.
    3. Remove any excess caulk using a paper towel.
4.Using a wet paint brush, smooth the remaining caulk into the panels, then let dry.
    5. Now you will need to use the touch-up paint that is made for your panel.
    6. Using the touch up paint, color in the remaining caulk, allow time to dry.
    7. When dry the panels should appear almost seamless.

Can I use your Panels around my Fireplace or Stove?

Even though our panels are incredibly realistic, keep in mind that they are not real stone, they are made utilizing high density polyurethane. All of our Polyurethane Panels can be used around a Fireplace opening/insert, and/or Stove, as long as you follow the Fireplace Insert/Stove Manufacturer’s specifications for required clearances.

    Benefits of Polyurethane Panels

Faux Polyurethane Panels Here at FauxPanels.com we make all of our panels* out of High density Polyurethane, NOT Styrofoam! Polyurethane has huge visual, durability, and health benefits over Styrofoam.

    Disadvantages to Styrofoam:

    • Can break easily
    • Can begin to deform at temperatures as low as 167°F (75°C), melt at around 200°F (93°C), and flow at around 250°F (121°C). In addition to causing structural failure, melting polystyrene can actually fuel a fire.
    • Long-term exposure to small quantities of styrene is suspected of causing: Low platelet counts or hemoglobin values, Chromosomal and lymphatic abnormalities, nervousness, difficulty sleeping, and other acute or chronic health problems associated with the nervous system.

    Benefits of our Polyurethane Panels:

    • Polyurethane has a closed cell structure which provides protection from moisture and therefore will not rot. Further, the closed cell structure prevents paint from peeling from the surface.
    • Polyurethane products provide no nutritional value and as such also resist the growth of mildew and fungus.
    • Polyurethane panels will not crack or warp when properly installed.
    • Polyurethane products are not affected by ultraviolet rays when properly coated.
    • In special formulations, Polyurethanes can withstand continuous use at 200°C (392°F) or higher.
    • Most panels can be Class A Firerated
    • Non toxic.
    • No CFC’s in our manufacturing process.
    • Do not admit toxic gasses or vapors.
    • Can be used with water based stains and finishes.
    • 100% free of ozone depleting chlorofluorocarbons.
