| Q. |
Why can't I have a real rock or masonry mailbox on state supported roads? |
| A. |
NCDOT & Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have adopted guidelines set forth by NCHRP Report 350. These structures do not meet the crashworthiness requirements of the FHWA and the NCHRP Report 350. The solution is to replace it with our faux mailbox column. They look just like real masonry and are approved by DOT and the FHWA for use on the National Highway System (NHS). |
