The home remodeling experts on Money Hunters sought to transform an unused garage into a living room and party space for this family. This garage makeover included finishing the walls, brightening up the room with paint and lighting fixtures, covering the cinderblock wall with
Windsor Ledgestone Santa Fe Adobe panels, a new floor and new furniture.
Host Matt Blashaw pointed out how a project like this could easily cost upwards of $75,000. He made note of how faux panels look realistic but cost a fraction of the price compared to real stone and a mason. Using faux ledgestone to dress up a cinderblock wall really gave this garage makeover a wonderful touch. Overall, the Money Hunters team built a gorgeous living room out of this garage space and showed how you can create amazing interior design without breaking the bank.
Matt Blashaw: “Look like stone?”
Peter: “Looks like stone to me”
Matt Blashaw: “Is it heavy as stone”
Peter: “Hmm, no.”
Matt Blashaw: “This is high density polyurethane foam, same stuff you see in car bumpers, dashboards, durable stuff, but looks just like the real thing. The best part about it, easy to install.”
Matt Blashaw: Before we can hang these puppies on the wall. We need to cut them to size using a miter saw. Were using 1 ¼ inch deck screws. Alright so were good. See this little cleat, this here?”
Peter: “Yea.”
Matt Blashaw: “This is just gonna fit simply right in here, locks into place, just like that, screw it in. Boom. It’s so easy that I feel bad, I mean the camera men are working harder.”
Peter: “Yea, I think your right.”
Matt Blashaw: “How ya doin?”
Matt Blashaw: “This stuff is going up like flies on a wall of honey. We spent about 2000 bucks on this faux stone, compared to the 6G’s of what it cost for real stone and a mason to install it. That’s a steal.”
Nicole: “The new space definitely exceeds my expectations; it’s more than I ever thought it would be.”
Matt Blashaw: “Do you need any more party space?”
Peter: “You can never have enough.”
Matt Blashaw: {Laughter}
Deanne Bell: “Do you think that you were under or over? Total: your final tally was 24,566 bucks. You were right, under budget.
Peter: “Nice, yea cut???”
Matt Blashaw: “Under!”
